Why are used boats so expensive?

It’s not only wealthy people who own or buy boats. Avid fishermen can buy little “bass boats” or bigger ocean fishing boats (but still not really “big”), people who love sailing can buy 12-foot lake sailing boat, 20-foot long coastal cruising sailboat, 40-foot blue-water sailing boats, or much larger. Most people buy boats because they love being out on the water, whether fishing, water-skiing, sailing, or ocean cruising, or just getting away from hard dirt for a while.
