Solidus..un poco que todo esto me marea..de todos modos que tarjeta recomendarias para correr en resolucion de 1600x1050(creo que es la resolucion nativa de mi monitor) juegos en High (sobre todo mover el Crysis decentemente) la 9800GTX o 9800GX2..esto tambien en relación costo /beneficio porque sabemos que la GX2 es mejor, pero sera bueno invertirr eso o mejor una anterior. Ahora que saldran las versiones OCeadas de ambas durante la quincena de abril. Lo que pasas es que voy hacer un upgrade a mi video y estoy con esa duda si comprr de una vez la evga 9800GX2 o esperar para la 9800GTX. aca un review mas comprarndo estas tarjetas

Pues hasta ahora esa serie 9 es como el paso de ATI de la serie 2 a la serie 3, un refresh con más de lo mismo, Si revisaron los reviews ese 9800gtx anda por ahi en rendimiento con el 8800gtx teniendo éste más de 1 año de antiguedad, el 9800GTS es un 8800GTS G92 con esteroides. El único que se salva es el 9600GT que a diferencia del 8800gs agregó el OC desde el bus del slot PCIe, además que en SLI aumenta más del 50% de su rendimiento, cosa que ninguna tarjeta anterior de Nvidia ha logrado con dicha configuración.

En sintesis, te recomendaría un SLI de 9600GT a que compres el 9800gts o el 9800gtx, así cuando llegue la siguiente generación podrás vender sin problemas ambas tarjetas al ser baratas y con excelente rendimiento a comparación de las anteriores serie x600GT.

PD: Si no llego a vender mi tarjeta y la tuya la piensas vender por menos de $300 me avisas.

uhhmmmm. mi placa no soporta SLI...y no pienso cambiar de placa hasta diciembe salvo que me compre la evga con soporte para DDR2 creo que la 750i.....pero de las tres para usar solo una tarjeta, y dea cuedo al rendimeinto/ precio...

Mejor quédate con tu GTS 640MB, OC a 620 en el core, 1612 en los shaders y a 900 en las memos y ahi tienes una tarjeta con un rendimiento casi similar, sino mejor, que un 9600GT. Por ende tendrías que buscar superior al 9600GT y solo te quedaría entre un 9800GTX o un 9800GTS y entre los 2 prefiero un 8800GT, que con un OC es más que sufi.

NVIDIA GT200 : GeForce 9900 GTX & 9900 GT In Q3


No it is not some April Fool jokes. VR-Zone has learned that there will be two high end parts from Nvidia to replace the current GeForce 9800 GX2 and 9800 GTX in Q3. These two parts are GeForce 9900 GTX and GeForce 9900 GT based on the new GT200 architecture. GeForce 9800 GX2 and GTX will have a short lifespan since they will be replaced in a couple of months time. Nvidia has positioned GeForce 9900 GTX to replace 9800 GX2 and this gave a clue that a single GT200 card will actually outperform a dual G92 card. Likewise for GeForce 9900 GT, outperforming and replacing 9800 GTX. CJ revealed to us that Nvidia will have a hard time fitting GT200 onto the PCB since the GPU is gonna be large and very power hungry so we can probably assume it is still 65nm based. The PCB for GT200 will be P651.

And the GeForce 9800 GTX? In summary, after having tested the GeForce 9800 GTX under Windows XP, I will state that it performs on par with the previous generation GeForce 8800 GTX. That is until its 512MB of video memory (VRAM) becomes exhausted. Although not necessarily a drawback, it is a consideration that the informed consumer needs to realize before making a purchase - especially when two (SLI) or three (3-way SLI) graphics cards are being considered. The additional 256MB of video memory available on the GeForce 8800 GTX can make the difference between a game being playable or not.

NVIDIA rebautizará la 8800GS

La Geforce 8800GS ha tenido una recepción tibia por no decir gélida, y bueno, no es de extrañarse. Es una tarjeta de gama alta de la generación 8 que rinde menos que la tarjeta de gama media de la generación 9, léase Geforce 9600GT.

NVIDIA ha dado con la solución. En los próximos días aparecerá una nueva y misteriosa tarjeta llamada Geforce 9600GSO, que no es otra cosa que el viejo y querido núcleo G92 de 65nm, a idénticas frecuencias y características de la 8800GS pero ahora con un vistoso nombre de la generación Geforce 9 y un posicionamiento acorde al rendimiento: justo por debajo de la Geforce 9600GT.

Si lo hacen con el sigilo de un ninja, nadie lo notará.

Lo mismo con otro nombre

Ya habíamos hablado al respecto de esta "nueva" tarjeta. Se trata de la ya conocida GeForce 8800GS que cambia de nombre a GeForce 9600GSO, manteniendo exactamente las mismas características.

Quizás la única novedad, si así se le puede llamar, es el hecho que los socios ensambladores de NVIDIA tendrán la libertad para armar estas tarjetas a gusto. Esto quiere decir que veremos la creatividad de los fabricantes en cuanto a diseño de PCB, eléctrico y en cuanto a sistemas de refrigeración.

Esta tarjeta se lanzara en mayo y su fin es lograr acaparar una competencia en un nicho muy acotado de producto, entre la GeForce 9600GT y la pronta a ser lanzada 9500.

Thanks to our awesome parser, we have scooped the rest of the Internet once again! The XFX 9600 GSO page appeared today, and I have set up the 9600 GSO page. I don't know what the reference speeds are going to be so I used the speeds that XFX listed as the reference speeds. Actually there may not be any concrete reference speeds for this card because the manufacturers have carte blanche with this new card:


...The 9600 GSO is still based on the same G92 core with 96 stream processors but NVIDIA will give board makers a bit more freedom in their designs in terms of own PCB design to and determine their own clocks.


Here is the only news I could find about the 9600 GSO. I guess it was supposed to launch in May.

Nvidia Upcoming GPUs Line-Up For Q2/Q3

For the high-end enthusiasts segment., Nvidia will launch GeForce 9900 GTX and 9900 GTS in July to replace the 9800GTX. There is a die shrink on G92 for GeForce 9800 GT cards.

Nvidia has also cancelled plans to launch GeForce 9800 GTS because there are simply too many high end GPUs. We told you earlier, GeForce 9600 GSO will launch on May 13th which is just a rebrand of the 8800 GS.

The rest of the mainstream and value GPUs like 9500 GT, 9500 GS, 9300 GE and 9300 GS will come in June-July timeframe.

Todo sobre las nuevas GeForce

El corazón de las nuevas tarjetas es el núcleo NVIDIA D10U. Este potenciara a dos sabores de tarjetas gráficas, bajo dos variantes, D10U-20 para la GeForce GTX 260 y D10U-30 para la GTX 280, la primera algo más humilde que la segunda. La GTX 260 tendrá 192 Shader Processors, 448-bit de ancho de banda a memorias con un manejo máximo de estas de 896 MB. La GTX 280 en tanto, poseerá 240 Shader Processors, 512-bit de ancho de banda a memorias y un máximo de 1GB de las mismas.

Si bien no sabemos las frecuencias - y para los efectos poco importa ya que los ensambladores tienen bastante libertad en este apartado - si tenemos entendido que no estamos ante más de lo mismo, ya que NVIDIA habría nuevamente manoseado sus procesadores de shaders para que estos tengan un 50% más de rendimiento que aquellos presentes en la familia 9.

Nvidia GTX260 and 280 revealed

NVIDIA STAGED ITS regular editors' day, and once again, we were not invited. Luckily, that means we can tell you about it early.
With the usual flair of spin and statistics which almost no one questions for fear of being cut off, NV talked about two new GPUs, the GTX280 and GTX260. The 280 is the big one, the 260 is the mid range, what used to be the GTS.

The 280 has 240 stream processors and runs at a clock of 602MHz, a massive miss on what the firm intended. The processor clock runs at 1296MHz and the memory is at 1107MHz. The high-end part has 1G of GDDR3 at 512b width. This means that they are pretty much stuck offering 1G cards, not a great design choice here.
The 280 has 32ROPs and feeds them with a six and eight-pin PCIe connector. Remember NV mocking ATI over the eight-pin when the 2900 launched, and how they said they would never use it? The phrase 'hypocritical worms' come to mind, especially since it was on their roadmap at the time.
This beast takes 236W max, so all those of you who bought mongo PSUs may have to reinvest if they ever get three or four-way SLI functional.

The cards are 10.5-inch parts, and each one will put out 933GFLOPS. Looks like they missed the magic teraflop number by a good margin. Remember we said they missed the clock frequencies by a lot? Here is where it must sting a bit more than usual, sorry NV, no cigar.

The smaller brother, aka low-yield, salvage part, the GTX260 is basically the same chips with 192 SPs and 896M GDDR3. If you are maths-impaired, let me point out that this equates to 24 ROPs.
The clocks are 576MHz GPU, 999MHz memory and 896MHz GDDR3 on a 448b memory interface. The power is fed by two six-pin connectors. Power consumption for this 10.5-inch board is 182W.

This may look good on paper, but the die is over 550mm, 576 according to Theo, on the usual TSMC 65nm process. If you recall, last quarter NV blamed its tanking margins on the G92 yields.

How do you fix a low yield problem? Well, in Nvidia-land, you simply add massive die area to a part so the yields go farther down. 576 / 325 = 1.77x. Hands up anyone who thinks this will help them meet the margin goals they promised? Remember, markets are closed Monday, so if you sleep in, no loss.

The 260 will be priced at $449 and go up against the ATI 770/4870 costing MUCH less. The 280 will be about 25 per cent faster and quite likely lose badly to the R700, very badly, but cost more, $600+.

Lo que traducido significa que en potencia bruta la supera por tres veces, luego falta que a la práctica así sea en otras aplicaciones.

GeForce GTX 280+ (GT200-b) in September? GTX 350 (GT300) in Q4 08?

According to AustinComputers in Austrailia, it looks like Nvidia is rolling out its 55nm GTX 280 (supposedly called GTX 280+) this month. Additionally, a GTX 350 is expected within the close of the year, featuring 2GB of GDDR5 on the same 512-bit bus. If this product page is correct, this new card could easily be a beast!

Hardware informer Expreview has updated the information on NVIDIA's future price/performance graphics card, the GeForce GTS 240. Previously reported just as a renamed NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT, the GTS 240 is now being accounted for more than that. GeForce 9800 GT Green Edition is going to succeed GeForce 9800 GT. On the other hand GeForce GTS 240, while still very similar to GeForce 9800 GT, will come with higher clock speeds - 675/1688/2200 MHz compared to 600/1500/1800 MHz core/shader/memory found on 9800GT. NVIDIA is expected to officially announce GeForce GTS 240 at the upcoming CeBIT computer show in Hannover, Germany.

In related news, Expreview confirms that GeForce GTS 250, another card that will coexist with GTS 240, will be exactly the same as GeForce 9800 GTX+ except for the name of course.
